We don’t really want to start this info off with bragging. But we always knew that Maxime Dangles has got it. Since we’ve heard his first demo we were convinced that this young man is going to have a bright future. After last summer’s surprise hit “AGUJAS” (K2/29) we know see him returning to Kompakt Extra with his masterpiece so far. “TULIPA” is nothing short of an anthem. Slightly reminiscent of Joey Beltram’s golden times, Maxime is re-introducing the vacuum cleaner to the floor. Don’t worry, this is not the next attempt to fill the empty phrase new rave with sense. It’s simply one of the best techno tracks we’ve heard in years.
Same counts for “FIREWIRE” which takes things down to a more mental atmosphere. Think Luke Slater’s Planetary Assault Systems in an elevator with uhm... whoever. “FIREWIRE” is a dead-serious, darkish beast of a track. One of those tracks that won’t let you go anywhere than crazy. Maxime Dangles single-handedly restored our faith in proper TECHNO. Watch out for his amazing live sets during this summer and enjoy the collective freak out while these tracks get played.
